| To the madman. Ranting. First off if darkness is here and cannot be undone I'll say "hooray! for job security" even though the Reaper is one **s of a boss (delays pays, cuts bonuses). #2 Have you been outside your house recently? You're trembling alright but not because of our boss who as you put it is bringing in new business (the tide of blood). One might actually get a decent raise in these dark economic times when everything is going to hec ("yay! for our booming underground economy"). Our doom will come through nether portals if and only if some wacky exchange demon who has a bad day decides to go on a shopping spree. On that day you shall truly know fear - especially if you turn out to be selling shoes in a flea market. "do not run or you will die!" no, really?! What happens if one stays? One gets a prize? Be honest what would you do? Stay and get impaled on some defective street lamp, or hop and delay the impalement (reaching as far as your limp might get you - for you lost one leg to the aforementioned demon who couldn't decide between the bunny flippers and a pair of tall elegant boots)? You might even reach a functional street lamp and get bonus electric shock for your trouble. Next up I have to give out some advice VAT-Free: don't cry over spilled milk. Go be the best flimsy mortal you can be - you might even turn out to be the worst flimsy mortal you can be and get a job with Hec.inc - where fire and brimstone really matter (sorry for the product placement) Pray? For what? And to whom? To those that bother to read these lines 1 (insert bored yawn here) and now the short version Fear! For the moment absurd draws near We are all doomed for having trusted you We shall be ground to ash when we'll die! Stop this mad rant and just tell me why? Sing me the "demise awaits our world" lullaby OUR END IS NIGH, I PRAY, GET NO ANSWER, BREAK DOWN AND CRY To those that bother to read these lines 2 Ranting can hardly qualify as poetry. Should have been posted under personals (even though the author is not the madman). Mixing darkness and end of days scenarios can backfire. | |

| To be honest, nothing that has been written here has anything to do with dark economic times or taxes or real life for that matter. I would like to think of it as being based on a dark fantasy universe, much like Warhammer. ( you know ...orcs , trolls , demons , goblins , dark magics , epic kingdoms run on faith , honor , where the fallen go to heaven, where traitors are denied eternal rest and so on.) As for "do not run or you will die!" It's do not run FOR you will die. Substitute for with because. As in if you stand and fight you might actually have a chance. Running will do you no good, whereas in staying you still have hope (might not be much, but in a fantasy universe, hope is a powerfull thing to have). As for the praying part, you can pray to whatever deity you see fit, might do you no good, and it's usualy that way, but in dark times people use religion as an achor, mostly to keep hope and avoid despair. Changed it to personals, although i am not the madman, i just want this to be the begining of the chain of poems/ prose i am about to write ( to be honest i have not yet decided). Might not be profound, seeing as how some of it is written literally and has no hidden meaning, but i still regard it as a poem. Perhaps "ranting" was not the word to use, should be more along the lines of a dark prophecy. Thank you for your imput. | |
