there seems to be a controversy here: I'm glad you died yet I can stop missing you. Surely the missing starts precisely when you know the person is not coming back. at all! Up until that point yes, it can be annoying if Dad pops in and out of your life. I sense the relief here but I wonder if you could speculate further..
The fear of losing someone [in itself!]could trigger 'the missing' process regardless if they are coming back or not.

I hear you! Poetic and existential from a more profound perspective.
Too much love can become a burden at times... good thing, ironical as it may seem, that Death offers relief from that. I'd award a star, any color, but I'm but a simple newbie... I'll give you a virtual "high five" instead. Tx for posting.

P.S. A simple suggestion in the end, in order to add more clarity on the Sense intended.
