Inner fight between mercy and anger!
It seems that anger defeats mercy many times. Elegant and perfectly chosen the entire flow of the poem. The imagery is a very impressionist one and reading your poem I found out that it flows slowly in a peaceful shape for the reader. The war between these two states is more devastating when anger conquers your body and mind. I like the way you select words in the first two stanzas, with anger turning the "heart into a rusty piece of metal". Next, "love has died, / without being a hero" is well used, because if mercy wouldn't be defeated, it could turn you into a hero. The “pot of venom” leads me to Socrates’ death. In the end, the ultimate path needed to escape from the claws of anger is to choose death, in my opinion, or to find the Will that will calm down and defeat anger.

Beautiful poem, great idea logically invoked and smart.

Sincerely,
Marius
