= almost perfect | Luminita Suse [22.Jan.04 06:57] |
You tried hard to keep the syllables number constant and you almost did it in the first two strophes as each has 7 syllables except the last verse of the second stanza where you break the rhythm with 8 syllables. Then you have a inconsistent mixture of 7 or 8. I would concentrate more on meanings and metaphors and keep away from cliché and rhyme. Of course, if you plan to write poetry, not lyrics.
= Keep rhyme | Cosmin Pohaci [29.Jan.04 22:09] |
Well, from what i know a poem is made out of lyrics, so to write quality poetry i think it's important to write good lyrics. As for rhymes, I like using them, actually i think it makes a poem better. I try combining the meanings, metaphors and rhymes (versification in general), sometimes I get the result, sometimes I don't (which is only normal), but I don't want to "keep away" from rhyme as I consider it an important piece of the puzzle
