Am văzut adineaori un lucru frumos,
Liniștit și zvelt,
Pe fondul unui cer de aur, de aur:
Un chiparos drept,
Simțitor,
Superb
Ca un deget negru
Îndreptat spre cer.

Degetul frumos, de ce ești tu negru
Și de ce arăți spre cer?
