Oh, get thee down, thou brightest star,
And shine thy splendid rays of gold! Thy glamor blinds us from afar, And yet thy heart is ever cold. Who made thee master of our souls? Who said that stars art everlasting? Thou always hinder our goals – Eternal prince, rejected king. The offspring of the sins thou’ve sown, A crippled rabble for thy spite, Paying the price for having known The side-effects of losing might. Oh, get thee down, deceitful priest Of miracles now long-forgotten! We heard the roar thy hungry beast Has spilt out from its bowels rotten. If truly thou art who thou claim, Where is the promise of the Rainbow? What bounds could there be for the shame We felt when letting Eden go? Oh, get thee down and get thee gone, Thou spreader of hate and despair! For all the evil thou have done There is no punishment unfair.
