I fear that one day life may take you from me
People say that sometimes that’s how lovers should be There’s a wisdom in living both close and apart How can wisdom be taught to a wandering heart? Here and there if I stop for a minute or two All I have in my mind is the beauty of you There’s no rest and no peace and wherever I go Winds of lust and of pain and of memories blow. I fear that one day all the roads will be lost People say that sometimes every gain has a cost Women come, women go, I’m so blind on my way I rememeber that you never asked me to stay Just a tear in your eyes, just a meaningless word How I wish I had seen, how I wish I had heard! Here and there if I stop for a minute or two All I have in my mind is the silence of you. I fear that one day you’ll quit waiting for me People say that sometimes that’s how lovers should be There’s a wisdom in living both close and apart How can wisdom be taught to a wandering heart? How the moon can be praised if we don’t praise the sun? If tomorrow I’m back and my journey is done And I stop to say hi for a minute or two What’s my life if I find just the missing of you?
