The Walberberg Seminar on Contemporary Literature aims at promoting the UK’s creative ideas and literary achievements and to develop creative partnerships between the cultural and other sectors in Europe. The seminar brings together an impressive group of contemporary British writers and offers contexts and platforms for European academics, publishers, translators, journalists and creative professionals with cross-sectoral background to engage in multilateral debate on cultural diversity. It offers participants a lively literary experience with a concentrated mix of readings, talks, performances, panel discussions and creative writing workshops and provides the opportunity to talk directly with the writers about their work. Many people who have attended the seminar have described it as a unique and intimate literary event where they were introduced to a network of like-minded people. The 26th edition of the seminar will take place at “Akademie Schmöckwitz” close to Berlin on the theme “Literature and Health”. Poet and novelist Blake Morrison will chair the seminar and participating writers are Jen Hadfield, Nell Leyshon, Tim Parks, Martin Rowson and Helen Walsh. Special guest is the novelist and broadcaster Howard Jacobson. For more information, contact Marijke Brouwer at [email protected]
