The meaning of “what’s fair” has ended,
Now you don’t have any doubt Cause what others take for granted… You can only dream about. Maybe it’s our human nature, For it makes us all forget That we’ll always wish for more Always want what we can’t get It is said we’re all the same, That we all have the same rights But it’s just a lie we claim, It can get us through the nights When we want something so bad, That we make of it our goal… In our striving we turn mad And forget about our soul. That’s why we linger on our hope, Only delaying our fall That’s when we realize it’s true That we will never have it all. So what we have it’s not enough We always want a little more, A little bit, maybe a half Of what a lifetime we prayed for. But sometimes we’re forced to see, What we are wishing every day Someone just mocks and makes it be A worthless trash to throw away And then we turn in angry people, Driven by greed without our pride We tear the soul of the old cripple That long ago we locked inside. And so we’re lost inside this race, And if you ask, we can’t describe What had us lose the only trace Of what made worth all of our lives For what it seems it’s not enough We’re losing everything we care, We let hate speak in our behalf And so the sacred thing we tear.
