- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 2007-01-18 | | Culture today It is not remembered nor kept beside True values have been lost outside Like domino pieces they start to collide Slowly we desert culture and say:â We triedâ Curiosity disperses as hours strike Our mind doesnât dream to reach the pike Where a highly rational world once did exist Now just ashes covered by unknown mist The young mind is controlled without will Words within art constantly stare at us until A book is too hard to be studied and so We leave it behind, far on the last row Lost in time and space, details sadly beckon New tools appear and we donât reflect for a second Do we read because we have to or to reach success? Is it just a waste of time or even more than a bless? Few are those who appreciate forgotten lines And notice the beauty that purely shines But the more they observe, the better they see This world has changed; writing has lost its glee Abandoned, a part of culture lays its wings in some of us Who still cannot utter, there is nothing to impress Applauding, a slight inanity laughs in our face Thus, welcome to the reality that we lovingly embrace.
