Written in the wind

Can you see the pictures in the sky?
Angels, dogs and snails,
boots, cars and potato pies…
Sometimes, a face looks down on me,
Changing, fleeting, travelling
With the wind forever more
Whereto, we will never know
Until we discover where
the milky way goes,
Why the moon cries
And how the sun smiles
When we can read our past
In the writing on the sky,
Fading with the clouds at last,
And hear our final destiny
in the wind’s lonely melody…
