Founded by Ted Hughes and now in its 30th year, The Arvon International Poetry Competition is one of the UK's most prestigious open poetry prizes, welcoming entries from around the world.
Deadline: August, 16th. Prizes: First Prize – £7,500 Second Prize – £2,500 Third Prize – £1,000 Commendations – Three prizes of £500 Fee: £7 per poem Judges: Arvon is delighted to present the distinguished panel that will be judging the 2010 Poetry Competition. The panel will be chaired by Carol Ann Duffy. She is joined by Elaine Feinstein and Sudeep Sen. Competition Guidelines: Each poem must be the original work of the author and not a copy nor a substantial copy of any work and it must not have been previously published or broadcast, or have won a prize in any other competition (at 31 October 2010).
