You finally talk to me...
Your emotions, always so deceptive to me. I listen and try to see beyond your words... what you’re really thinking. You stop talking You stare intently at me, and I can’t think of anything to say. No, wait... I can think of a million things to say, a million excuses, a million justifications, a million reasons why... it’s not my fault. It tears me up inside that as your steel gray eyes are locked on mine, I realize I just thought of a million lies to say to you. “I’m sorry...†It’s not nearly enough and I know it. Burning a hole through my soul Your eyes condemn me then and there. You start talking again, calm, cold and distant, You offer your forgiveness, and say it’s all okay.
